      Volvo Trucks a long history

      After Volvo (Latin for 'I roll') presented its first passenger car in 1927, the first truck followed a year later. In the first years, they were mainly sold in Sweden, but after the Second World War, the Western European market became increasingly important and the brand played a role in the reconstruction of the continent. In the 1980s, the big crossing was made and the company also became an important player in the USA and Canada, after the takeover of White, Autocar and the heavy truck division of General Motors.

      Volvo Trucks sold its passenger car division, so that money was freed up to add the truck division of Renault (including its American subsidiary Mack) to its group. Later, a takeover of Nissan Diesel also followed, which was renamed UD Trucks. In addition to trucks under these four brands, the Volvo Group also builds construction machinery, buses and marine engines.

      Volvo not only builds trucks in Sweden, but also in Belgium, South Africa, India, Thailand, Brazil and the United States of America.

      No one has won the coveted Truck of the Year award as often as Volvo, taking home the prize in 2024, 2014, 2000, 1994, 1986, 1984 and 1979.


      A sort introduction in current Volvo Models

      The Volvo FH will help them to do an even better job and save up to 10% fuel. It contains numerous world first innovations in order to drive safer, load faster, reduce fatigue and increase productivity. For most haulage operations, the most efficient answer is a Volvo FM.       Volvo to be used multiple times!

      Approximately 95% of a Volvo truck is recyclable. Did you know that a new Volvo truck contains about a third of recycled materials (33% by weight). All plastic parts over 50 grams are all labeled for easy identification. Dismantling handbooks are available for almost all models and Volvo even made agreements with local partners to ensure that almost nothing from a Volvo truck is wasted.
