Scania trucks are a different standard!
These trucks & tractors come with a plethora of benefits for the driver. A long life cycle and most of the components being fit for recycling are two praiseworthy and conspicuous ones.
Let’s take a situation where you are out driving in a different country and suddenly your truck breaks down. You would, instinctively, panic. But when it’s a Scania truck, there is no reason to fret. The presence of more than 1,500 service workshops in 90 countries across the globe ensures that any disruption in your business is kept at bay.
It is not just the design that puts these Swedish trucks in a class of their own. The fact that they require lesser fuel helps in the economical maintenance of these vehicles. Also, these are low-emission vehicles, and so, empathy towards the environment and a conscious effort to reduce carbon footprint are goals which are easily met.
The aforementioned properties of these trucks are enough for a smart driver to purchase them. However, the most admirable and special feature of these vehicles is that their modules can be configured as per your business requirements, making Scania a brand that spells reliability.
History of Scania
In 1891 Scania was founded in Malmö, it started building bicycles from Rover (who later also started building cars) under license, a revolutionary progressive design at the time, with two wheels of equal size. The bicycle as we know it today!
More interesting is of course what came after that: in 1905 the first truck was built, after which a merger with Vagnsfabriks Aktiebolaget i Södertalje (Vabis, literally translated as wagon factory company from Södertalje) followed in 1911. From 1911 to 1969 we knew the factory under the name Scania-Vabis. In 1969 a lot changed: there was a merger with Saab, the name became Scania again, a completely new cabin was introduced, but above all this year marks the arrival of the famous Scania V8 engine.
There has always been a close bond between Scania and Volkswagen, for example, the company has been the importer for VW in Sweden since 1948. Since 2014, Scania itself has been part of the VAG group, just like MAN, so that they can benefit from each other's knowledge and parts.
In addition to Sweden, Scania also has factories in the Netherlands (Zwolle and Meppel), France, Brazil, Thailand, China, India, Argentina, Denmark, Poland and Finland.
Scania has been Truck of the Year five times, in 2017, 2010, 2005, 1996 and 1989.
